When Melissa Brooks discovers she can't afford college she moves to New York City and gets a job as a waitress at a run down comedy club. While living with her eccentric, older brother, she enters an unlikely love triangle while trying to raise the nerve to get on stage and perform.

DANIEL SCHECHTER (WRITER-DIRECTOR) is the writer and Executive Producer of the feature THE BIG BAD SWIM (Dir. Ishai Setton which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and is currently playing festivals around the world. See Variety review below). His previous scripts for THE GOOD LIFE and THE COUNSELOR both received the Best Screenplay Awards at Emerson College's prestigious Evvy Awards Ceremony. He has worked for Premiere Magazine as a segment editor, Scout Productions (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) and The New York Film Academy. Daniel is the co-founder of Good Show Entertainment with Tim Duff.

JASON ORANS and BRIAN DEVINE, GIGANTIC PICTURES (Production Company) produced FLANNEL PAJAMAS starring Justin Kirk (ANGELS IN AMERICA, WEEDS) and Julianne Nicholson (LITTLE BLACK BOOK) which premiered in the Dramatic Feature Competition at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Gigantic is in post-production on David Kaplan's feature YEAR OF THE FISH which was developed at the Sundance Lab and stars An Nguyen (Neal Jordan's upcoming THE BRAVE) and Ken Leung (X3, RUSH HOUR). Their feature SATELLITE, a romantic fable starring Karl Geary (HAMLET, HAPPY HERE AND NOW) and Stephanie Szostak (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) receives its theatrical premiere August 9th after a long festival run. Previous to this, Gigantic produced THE SUITOR directed by Julia Solomonoff (SISTERS) which premiered nationally on PBS in 2005, as well as COSMOPOLITAN (PBS - 2004) with a screenplay by Sabrina Dhawan (MONSOON WEDDING). Upcoming for Gigantic is Emily Hubley's Sundance Lab project, THE TOE TACTIC and the new feature from writer-director Ramin Bahrani (MAN PUSH CART). Gigantic Pictures' sister companies include Gigantic Artspace, a fine art gallery, the indie record label Gigantic, Gigantic Recording Studios, a state of the art recording facility and Gigantic Studios a post production facility.

TIMOTHY DUFF (PRODUCER) produced the short films CHECK PLEASE and CAUSE AND EFFECT. Most Recently he wrote and directed the film CONFESSIONAL, which has won an Emerson University EVVY award for Best Advanced Film. Tim has worked for several production companies including Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions and ABC Sports. Tim is the co-founder of Good Show Entertainment with Daniel Schechter. Currently, Tim is producing GOODBYE BABY in the Summer of 2006 while developing future projects.

STEPHANIE HOLBOOK (CASTING DIRECTOR) credits include high-profile projects in three major markets. She began her career in San Francisco, providing local casting for such films as JADE, MURDER IN THE FIRST, A WALK IN THE CLOUDS and MRS. DOUBTFIRE. Stephanie's L.A. credits include TV shows "The Practice," "Roseanne" and "Arliss". Since moving to NY, Stephanie has worked for such esteemed directors as M. Night Shyamalan on THE VILLAGE and LADY IN THE WATER, Wes Anderson on THE LIFE AQUATIC, Mike Newell on MONA LISA SMILE and Kenneth Lonergan on MARGARET and Noah Baumbach's newest film, and his last film, THE SQUID AND THE WHALE. In addition, she was the Associate on FAILURE TO LAUNCH. As an independent Casting Director, Stephanie cast ROOM 314 for Michael Knowles and recently completed THE BABYSITTERS, starring John Leguizamo, OLD LOVES, and TIE A YELLOW RIBBON. She is currently casting the independent film AGAINST THE CURRENT for the producers of THE STATION AGENT.
